From Institutional Insight to Systematic Innovation
Mads N. S. Pedersen began shaping the foundations of Human Edge’s investment process while leading Global Asset Allocation at UBS Wealth Management. Drawing on his experience from UBS, Barclays, and Danske Bank, he developed the core ideas behind what would later become the Dynamic Allocation Portfolio (DAP) – a strategy built to help investors capture upside and manage risk throughout market cycles​​.
Built by Experts Across Disciplines
Together with Co-Founder Oliver Dressler, Mads established Human Edge as a platform for innovation in investment management.
Later joined by Maximilian Helletzgruber, the team blends deep institutional experience, data-driven thinking, and a passion for building efficient, transparent, and performance-oriented investment solutions​.
Our Story
2008
Mads joins Barclays as Head of Asset Management. The team introduces the iShares Global Beta Portfolios.
2015
Mads is promoted to GMD. The team introduces the investment concepts SAP, GCO and ESP
2019/20
Human Edge was founded in 2019. Our first “white label” funds are launched
2023/24
EDGE Sustainable Growth delivers 18% in USD. The fund is ranked in the top 5% in its Bloomberg peer group. In May 2024 we launched EDGE Global Dynamic
2003
Mads joins Danske Bank AM. Mads is appointed Head GAA and Chair of the Investment Committee
2011
Mads joins UBS as Head of Investment Strategy for the $100bln+ mandate business and develops the new TAA and SAA process
2018
Mads & Oliver develop the technology platform. The first investment mandates are launched
2021/22
We develop our Sustainability Matrix, making it possible to quantify ESG and SRI impact across our portfolios. In November 2022, we launch our EDGE Sustainable Growth
2025
EDGE Enhanced introduced, offering our investment capabilities with leverage and increased return potential. New office opened in Spain, supporting research and innovation.

The Team
Mads N. S. Pedersen
Before founding Human Edge, Mads N. S. Pedersen was Group Managing Director at UBS, where he led Global Asset Allocation and developed new TAA and SAA methods for over $100bn in mandates and a $2trn advisory book. In 2015, his team launched five new portfolio concepts, including the “Systematic Allocation Portfolio.” He previously held senior roles at Barclays and Danske Bank. Today, as CEO and majority shareholder, Mads continues to pursue his entrepreneurial vision of delivering superior investment solutions.
Maximilian Helletzgruber
Maximilian has experience in areas as diverse as commodities trading, art trading, consulting, business development and innovative technologies. He has worked at global companies, including Glencore and PwC, as well as start-ups in the technology space. His passion lies in innovation, in particular generating value from technological advances and the use of data. Maximilian Helletzgruber co-founded Human Edge, joining as a capital partner taking over responsibility for Business Development to drive growth and promote the investment concepts and strategies.
Oliver Dressler
Oliver holds a PhD in chemical engineering from ETH Zurich, where he applied machine learning to control microfluidic and nanoscale systems. He has built software across platforms – from mobile apps to high-performance computing – and worked as a data scientist and developer in startups across blockchain and web technologies. As Co-founder and CTO, Oliver designed and built our proprietary investment systems and platform.
